About This Project

Taking place at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Opening day of AmérAsia Montreal Asian Film Festival welcomed Third World Filipino director Kidlat Tahimik to Montreal for his Masterclass, excerpts of his film screening Memories of Overdevelopment. The Festival opened with the practitioner’s Lab featuring More Than Here: Midnight to 4AM, a video installation work by multidisciplinary artist Mi-jeong Lee. The Festival also welcomed film scholars and media professionals at the jury panel for the One Piece Film challenge event to elect the best one-take video works among our Montreal contestants. The Opening cocktail embraced many of art and cultural communities representatives, local film directors, press and media professionals, film scholars. Our guests enjoyed the delicious and veery appreciated catring services by Kyozon. To finish the day, AmérAsia offers the stage to director Kidlat Tahimik with his mesmerizing masterclass, film presentation, and his live performance. What an EVENT!
